Therefore, our recruitment process identifies candidates with suitable academic qualifications or potential. We support individuals to help them complete apprenticeships, part time degrees and other courses as well as facilitating membership of professional bodies such as IOSH and CIPD.
At Central Piling we care about the lives and welfare of our team members, we are a big family, literally in many cases. We have husbands and wives, brothers, fathers and sons, mothers and daughters amongst our staff.
We have created a fair and supportive working environment for people from all backgrounds. We know that we’ll be stronger to have people with different perspectives and experiences.

Estimating
These departments work closely together to ensure that our customers are provided with best value solutions for their ground engineering. Having the design facility in house enables us to react quickly and efficiently to client requirement changes. The team comprises of engineers and administrators many of whom are qualified to degree level and chartered members of the Institution of Civil Engineers.
Contracts
Our Contracts and Operations Managers have a considerable amount of experience of delivering schemes to tight time constraints in challenging environments. They work closely with suppliers, sub-contractors and industry partners such as the Federation of Piling Specialists to ensure that we carry out our works using best practice techniques and that our equipment is kept up to date.
Site Operatives
Most of our site operatives are directly employed. All have CSCS, CPCS and IPAF certification as appropriate. They are also trained and assessed for competency on specific machine types prior to working independently. Like all of our staff they receive regular health surveillance testing including drugs and alcohol tests. In situations where we have to supplement our team with sub-contract labour we always use trusted suppliers.
Logistics and Buying
We are now operating a wide range of low loaders and hiab lorries to move our rigs and ancillary equipment. In 2018 we achieved the FORS Bronze award (Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme). We continue to look to improve our offering in terms of safety, efficiency and environmental protection with the aim of reaching Gold status.
